The Microcomputer Systems Laboratory belongs to the Automation & Electronic Systems Sector of the Electrical Engineering Department of TEI of Western Greece. Its main objective is to provide a sufficient foundation and educate students in microprocessors, microcomputers, microcontrollers and networked microcontrollers with fieldbuses.

Specific laboratory courses provide to the students the necessary knowledge in microcomputer systems hardware architecture, as well as in associated software & firmware that supports the microcomputer monitor program / operating system and user programming environment.

Furthermore education is focused in applications of microcomputers & microcontrollers in the industrial and home / building automation field, automatic control and embedded systems. More advanced topics, such as networked microcontrollers and fieldbuses, are part of the education program.
